I'm an experienced visual designer who has embraced the way UX can guide researched, rational and well-directed design decisions. A user’s perception of a product can evoke a wide range of emotions and attitudes. These emotions and perceptions impact the user’s attitude towards the content, advertised products, company, credibility and usability.
Today, lean startups and techs alike, are increasingly using the minimum viable product (MVP) as a starting point for building successful software products. An MVP isn’t the quickest or the most perfect product. Rather, it is a product with minimum development effort that creates maximum value. Artifacts a like a priorities matrix help to make sure a UX team isn’t wasting it’s time on worthless products and features.
Taxonomy (from Ancient Greek - "arrangement" and "method") is the science of defining groups of biological organisms on the basis of shared characteristics and giving names to those groups.
Site maps are an important step of the UX process as they ensure content is in places users would expect to find it. They can also be used as a reference point for wireframes, functional specifications and content maps. I haave created many site maps for several websites.
A task flow diagram shows how users travel through the system templates while performing a specific task. Task flows are a tool to help me think through the design. They allow me to interject the user into the flow of the application. Here I created task flows based on user stories.
Wireframing is a crucial step in web design and development as it allows for rapid prototyping and helps to pinpoint potential problems early in the process. It can be invaluable to have a visual representation of content, hierarchy and layout. I use Adobe Illustrator for wireframing to quick interactive prototypes
Prototyping is a great way to test a website. Testing is a great way get feedback and make changes before visual design and coding. This avoids costly changes at development stage and avoids wasted time.
I've experimented with Axure and designed interactive prototypes for websites and mobile applications.
My many years of experience as a designer means I'm confident in the visual design role. Following well practiced design principles I love to create engaging, clear and contemporary visual design.
Content strategy plans for the creation, publication, and governance of useful, usable content. It helps both clients and project teams understand what content is being produced, how it’s being produced, by whom, when, and why. I've explored and created a content strategy for FGB Natural Products .
